IT'S VIPASSANA TIME

<<The Buddha is the master who shows the way. I am an individual who continues to lead the way, having inherited the Dhamma. The Buddha is not a person who can distribute Nibbana, but is only one who shows the way. Don't come to me asking to get results for you; I can not do that. How can U Ba Khin do what not even the Buddha could do? You have to work and commit to practice. >>

The Time of Vipassana Meditation has arrived by Sayagyi U Ba Khin (ed.Ubaldini/Astrolabio)

Audio recordings are not a substitute for teacher-guided practice during a Vipassana meditation retreat. They are useful for old students to listen to the sessions led by Mr. John Coleman and are aimed at new interested parties to get an idea of what they will do when they go to "A competent teacher who can help them to put Anicca into operation in a relatively short period. Once (the student) has activated Anicca, all he has to do is to continue to experiment and preserve it, but he will also have to – as soon as he will present the right time and opportunity for further progress – to propose to work towards the state of Bangha, the third level of knowledge in Vipassana."

Remember that no experience (not even an App) can replace the direct knowledge of the reality of the present moment - here and now - while we consciously inhale and exhale with the exercise of Vipassana meditation under the guidance of a competent teacher - in the flesh - along a line of millenary tradition transmitted from Master to student, which starts from Buddha Gautama and reaches our days ...

Perseverance, endurance and resistance
by John Coleman

Maximum determination. Viriya Iddhipada. Standing, sitting, walking but not lying down for a period of 24 hours without sleeping. Upon the firm decision to stay awake for 24 hours, a burst of enthusiastic energy is then followed by feelings of heavy sleepiness that dissolve as we are aware of Annica and simultaneously aware of the nature of Dukkha. Experiencing sensations (Dukkha), recognizing Annica.

Give up

Encourage others by setting a step, setting an example. Set others to start and continue, continue themselves. Fixity and torpor can become an oppressive obstacle unless limited by Viriya-Iddhipada through a 24-hour meditative period, free from sleep. The effect of Viriya-Iddhipada is quite inconceivable, incredible, until you actually experience it. Intuitive willingness to experiment - frankness to discover. Effort comparable to that of the Buddha's direct disciples. Realization that all consciousness is Dukkha.
